But, state laws are changing, and we’re witnessing a surge of new cannabinoids being sold with no regulations. If you’re curious about the future legality of Δ8-THC in Ohio & where to buy quality products, keep reading.

Is Delta 8 THC Legal in Ohio?

Delta 8 THC is legal in Ohio. The state doesn’t expressly prohibit the sale and distribution of hemp-derived delta 8 THC products.

What is Delta 8 THC?

Delta 8 is one of the many naturally occurring cannabinoids present in the hemp plant. It’s a THC isomer and twice less potent than delta 9 THC (around 75% of its potency) the popular psychotropic compound in marijuana. This minor cannabinoid does not cause the characteristic THC euphoria but a mild high that translates into a delightful and uplifting experience.

It provides a strong sense of comfort and calmness, but the effects vary depending on the amount taken. When consumed responsibly, Δ8-THC can help reduce anxiety, stimulate the appetite, control excessive vomiting, and reduce pain and relax muscles.

Buying Delta 8 THC in Ohio

Because this substance is legal in Ohio, you can order it online or get it from a local shop. The advantage of ordering it online is that you’re buying directly from the manufacturer. Retailers often offer products that haven’t been appropriately tested for safety and potency.

Crazy8s provides a detailed and reliable third-party lab test with each product (Certificate of Analysis). We craft every item from organic hemp sourced from local US farmers and test for purity and potency. Our products are legal and contain no more than 0.3% delta 9 THC by weight. Here’s what we offer:

  1. Delta 8 THC Gummies

If you’re just starting with this compound and want to take your medicine on the go, gummies are perfect. Our vegan-friendly gummies are infused with Δ8-THC distillate of the finest quality and come in two delicious flavors passion Fruit and Black Cherry Vanilla. The 10mg option is plenty for beginners, while the 50mg will keep a seasoned vet pretty satisfied.

  1. Delta 8 THC Soft Gel Capsules

Delta 8 capsules are convenient for users who prefer a flavorless form of Δ8-THC oil. Capsules are an excellent option for those who don’t enjoy hemp’s earthy flavor and offer no aftertaste nor leave any oil residue. The best part about softgel capsules is that they present a pre-measured dose of Δ8-THC distillate, which is more accurate than gummies and pre-rolls.

  1. Delta 8 THC Pre-Rolls

A bold claim, perhaps, but you won’t find better delta 8 pre-rolls than ours. While gummies and capsules offer a pre-measured dose of cannabinoids and terpenes, pre-rolls are a fun way to experience the full effects of hemp. A one gram Δ8-THC pre-roll by Crazy8s offers a burst of flavor and allows the enjoyment of the full onset of effects.

Each pre-roll is made with high-quality CBD flower with an incredible chemical profile. Then, it’s rolled into fresh kief and coated with premium Δ8-THC distillate and sprinkled with strain-specific, naturally derived terpenes.

Is Delta 8 THC Legal in Ohio?

Delta 8 THC is legal in Ohio. The state hasn’t explicitly banned or restricted the sale and distribution of this cannabinoid.

The 2019 Ohio Senate Bill 57, signed by Governor De Wine on July 30, 2019, legalizes hemp and hemp-derived compounds, including Δ8-THC. The bill is in line with the federal Farm Bill, which classifies hemp as an agricultural commodity and legalizes hemp cultivation, production, and extraction in the United States.

This means that hemp and hemp-based goods are legal if the delta 9 THC content is less than 0.3 percent. The Farm Bill has paved the way for complete, unrestricted access to hemp-derived products in the country. However, some states have elected to make all forms of THC illegal, including delta 8 THC, while Ohio has opted not to do so.

Ohio follows Senate Bill 57, which has removed hemp-derived THCs from the list of controlled substances, meaning it’s legal across the state.

What Does the Future Hold?

Ohio regulated all Δ8-THC products derived from marijuana sold within the state’s legal medical cannabis program. For now, no bills have been introduced to ban or restrict the sale and distribution of this compound. Despite the uncertainty in the laws, you can purchase hemp-derived delta 8 over the counter or online — without a medical card.

Is Delta 8 THC Legal Federally?

Due to a discrepancy between the legislation and a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulation, the status of Δ8-THC under federal law is unclear.

All hemp-derived cannabinoids, including Δ8-THC derived from hemp, fall under the federal 2018 Farm Bill’s definition of “hemp.” Hemp is no longer a banned substance and can be manufactured and marketed legally. The issue is, however, with Δ8-THC produced from hemp-derived cannabidiol.

Is Δ8-THC a controlled substance under federal law when synthesized from hemp-derived CBD? In an attempt to clarify the legal status of this substance on a federal level, in an advisory letter to the Alabama Board of Pharmacy, the DEA stated that delta 8 is an illegal substance when “synthetically produced from non-cannabis materials.”

Because this compound is obtained in a lab by mixing non-cannabis and cannabis materials, its legal status remains unclear. For now, Δ8-THC is in an unregulated, gray area on a federal level.
